MATERIALS AND CARE GUIDES
MATERIALS
Jesmonite materials are a popular choice in the construction, architectural and art industries
because of their versatility, durability, and lightweight properties. The materials are composite
materials supplied in various forms, some made of a gypsum-based powder or alternatively
a micro-cement and an acrylic polymer liquid, that, when mixed together, form a strong and
flexible material that can be molded into various shapes and forms, exceeding the use scenarios
of conventional materials.
CARE GUIDES
Here are some important things to know about caring for your new Jesmonite homeware or sculpture item:
- Do not put in the microwave or dishwasher.
- Wipe clean with a non-abrasive damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- A protective sealant has been used on your item to limit stains but prolonged exposure to water will lead to water marks.
- Whilst this is a durable material please avoid dropping as it may break.
- Everything is made by hand - there may be small air bubbles, or imperfections as a result.
- Material is heat-resistant, not flame-resistant, and may scorch if a candle burns below the rim
- Suggested extinguishing and removing the candle 1cm before reaching the rim to prevent scorch marks
