WAYST Pendant 01
Pendant 01 marks the beginning of WAYST — the first object developed through the studio's full material and making process. Conceived as an exploration of demolition waste, it tests how discarded brick can be reconstituted into a working lighting object while keeping the traces of where it came from visible.

FUMIDAI
A side table, cast from demolition rubble.
In Japan, a fumidai is a step. It's a small platform built for one purpose: to lift you higher than you could reach alone. The word carries further, too. It can mean a stepping stone, a way toward something greater.
Two tapered legs, monolithic and load-bearing, are cast from local demolition rubble: terrazzo dense with reclaimed brick, set in a dark charcoal base. A single slab top rests across them. It's made from the same mix and inset with two square offcuts salvaged from the casting itself. The top is polished smooth where the hand meets it and left honest at the edges. Nothing is decorative. Everything is structural, including the waste.
Every Fumidai side table is cast by hand from reclaimed aggregate, so no two show the same pattern of brick and stone.
